The HASTI Pre-service and Beginning Teachers PD Scholarship
The Hoosier Association of Science Teachers, Inc is dedicated to encouraging the on-going professional development of all HASTI members, particularly those early in their career. As a result, pre-service teachers or beginning educators (in the first 5 years) who are HASTI members can apply for a scholarship designated to reimburse expenses for HASTI-sponsored conferences or professional development events. Applicants may apply for multiple scholarship opportunities, but funding cannot exceed a total amount of $500 in a single year.
Only members of HASTI that are pre-service teachers, beginning teachers, or beginning informal science educators will be considered. Funds can be used for registration, hotel fees, travel expenses, the purchase of books or training materials, webinars, virtual conferences or other directly related expenses. The scholarship cannot fund teacher stipends or substitute pay. Scholarships will be available continuously on www.HASTI.org and will be due two weeks (or earlier) before the date of the conference or PD event.
