New authors need to register at the THST's Scholarworks site before submitting

Examples of Content:

      • Editorial comments from the HASTI president, THST editors, or invited guest writers.
      • Descriptions of innovative classroom procedures that have been tried and proven successful.
      • Statements of an individuals' or HASTI's position on important current issues in science teaching.
      • Articles or photographs focused on a specific area of science content.
      • Reports and comments on factors influencing science education on the national and/or state level.
      • Other interest stories, reviews, and biographical features.

Article Submission

    • Files should be sent as Microsoft Word documents.
    • Submission process is ongoing. All correspondence (submission and article status) should be directed to:

Editors' Responsibility:

    • All materials will be reviewed by the Editorial Team
    • The final published form of an article will be determined by the Editors.
    • All articles will be acknowledged upon receipt without obligation of publication.

Authors agree to the following:

  • Article has not been published elsewhere (including the Internet).
  • THST is published in the Creative Commons, which means you retain the copyright of your work.  However, to be published in THST you must give permission to the THST to do so and represent that you have fulfilled all obligations for rights with sponsoring or supporting organizations of the work (see licensing requirements). 
  • Article has not been (and will not be) submitted for publication elsewhere (including the Internet)
  • Submission is word processed using WORD or a WORD compatible platform. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.   (see:  Author Guidelines (link to https://scholarworks.iu.edu/journals/index.php/thst/about/submissions#authorGuidelines
  • A separate title page is included that contains: Title of the article, Author's name(s) and present job title, Author's home address, Author's school/organization name and address. (this information will be blinded during the review process)
  • Data are expressed in metric units. Other measurements are in metric units whenever possible.
  • Photographs are clear in PNG, JPEG, or TIFF format.
  • Any photographs of individuals other than author are accompanied by permission letter for publication. We can not and will not publish pictures of people without written consent for those over 18, and both consent and assent for minors.
