    The situation:

We have spent the past month looking for a chemistry teacher for the upcoming school year and to this point, had no luck.  Zip. Zero. Zilch.  Yes, as we know, the teacher shortage is very real.

Would you be willing share the following opportunity with the HASTI membership who might be interested or know someone (even out of state) who might be interested.  We are willing to use emergency permits as necessary and work with any university willing/able with regards to a combined teaching/student teaching experience.

    The opportunity:

Sheridan High School currently has a chemistry opening for the 2019-2020 school year.  This is a permanent full-time position.  The 2019-2020 schedule would consist of 3 HS Chemistry Classes, 2 AP Chemistry Classes, and one period of physics.  Please, do not stress about the physics.  If you are not licensed for physics, we can arrange for an emergency permit for that one course and make changes for future years or possibly even at the semester.
Sheridan is a small high performing school ranked 45th (out of over 400 high schools) in the State of Indiana by US News Annual School Rankings, an AP Honor Roll District, and rated as an “A” school by the State of Indiana.  We are located in northern Hamilton County close to Indianapolis, Carmel, Westfield, Noblesville, and Zionsville.  We pride ourselves on being a small school that creates awesome opportunities for students to find success.  Class size is usually 15 to 20 students.
Feel free to check out our website for more information:
Employment opportunities can be found on the corporation page under employment:
Again, if you are interested in learning more about Sheridan High School and this opportunity please apply or contact me at
If you have already under contract and are committed to another school, congratulations and I ask you to please share this opening with others you think might be interested in being a part of something special at Sheridan High School.

Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful summer.
